Hello
Everybody,
Thanks for stopping by! To all My LHOTP Fans please let me apologize for
having my page down for so long I am sure you are all wondering what I am
up to. Life continues to be busy, crazy, and a whole lot of fun. I am
going to try to keep this page updated and as current as possible.
For those of you who don’t know almost two years ago I joined a boxing gym
to take Cardio Kickboxing classes. It didn’t take me long to master the
high intensity workout of the class. I loved working on the bag and the
whole atmosphere of the gym. Let me just stop and say that a boxing gym is
different than any other type of gym. The sounds, the smell, the faces you
see when you walk in the door become like home and are a comfort when you
return. I have met some truly wonderful people and made some great
friends.
After 6 months I felt that I needed more of a challenge than the cardio
class so I spoke with the owner of the gym. Robert told me to try the
adult boxing class. I was hooked…. I loved it. I competed in my first
amateur bout on Aug. 4, 2007.
The gym gives me the opportunity to pursue other passions as well. I
volunteer at Kid Gloves Boxing Foundation working with the kids and young
adults. Kid Gloves Boxing Foundations mission is to teach the children to
Conceive, Believe, and Achieve in an effort to keep them off the streets
and away from negative influences such as gangs and drugs.
I also assist my friend in running his promotion company that hosts
Boxing, Mauy Thai Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Grappling, and Charity
Events.
I am currently studying for my personal trainer certification and speaking
with a counselor about going back to college and majoring in athletics.
My daughter keeps me on my toes and is growing up fast. She now plays the
guitar and is putting a band together. Basketball season just ended for
her so she wants to concentrate more on her music. Hey maybe we could get
Half Pint to sit in and play drums.
