| Hello Everyone in the Prairie Talk Community:
I know this has been done before in the past, but this forum has really grown in the last 6 months or so. I think it would be nice if everyone on Prairie Talk would reintroduce yourself so that the newer members may get to know some of our regulars.
Those of you who have not posted in a while, please do so this time and let us all know who you are.
I will start:
My name is Jay G, and I am from Texas. I grew up with Little House and Dukes of Hazzard. I am a real big fan of anything Little House and other family type shows such as 7th Heaven. I formerly worked in the transportation industry for about 4 years, but plan on getting back into the Entertainment Industry within the next month or so.
Have any questions to ask, feel free to ask.

| Hi!
I'm fairly new here, and just introduced myself a few weeks ago, but I'll be pleased to do it again...
My name is Sue, and I've been a Little House fan since the beginning in 1974. That sweet, gentle Doctor Baker was always my favorite character (as per my username!) as well as laura, (of course!) and Mr. Edwards. I was thrilled to find this community awhile ago, and look forward to meeting some wonderful Little House friends!

| Hi Prairie Talkers!
I am Diva Holly and I have been with Prairie Talk since the beginning of time, I am a Mod here as well.
I have loved Michael Landon since I was very young and I especially loved his role as Charles on Little House. As you can see from my name I love Almanzo, well Dean as Almanzo. Naturally, I am also a huge fan of Melissa Gilbert and Katherine MacGregor. As for my avatar, it pronounces my love for Dallas and Larry Hagman as JR Ewing. My daughter posts on this site as well under the name HalfPintDiva.
I have met the sweetest people here at the forum, a few of us have come together for the love of Dean. We "Diva's" are still campaigning to bring Dean to the net; and one day we know that he will have his own site.
I am a plain jane farmer girl and mother of two little girls.
Welcome to all the new Prairie Talkers, and hello again to the regulars

| I'm Cheryl or Diva Cheryl depending on my mood. I am also a moderator on this forum.
I love the life of the real Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family as much as Landon's TV version. My favorite character is Almanzo, but Charles is a close second.
I am an aspiring author who is collaborating on her first novel. I have had a handful of articles published by an ezine. I also have two article series which Lennon has graciously put up on Prairie Fans for any of you who are interested in the railroad or life in the 1800's.
In my spare time I write LHOP fan fics, spend time in my garden, and play mommy to my three kids - 19, 4 and 2. My husband tolerates me, even though he says I have absolutely no sense of humor. And Larry - flatbroke4ever - has made it his mission to tell me something that will make me ROFL.
Welcome to all our new members. I hope everyone continues to enjoy PT for years to come.

| Hello and Welcome to anyone new to Prairie Talk. I'm Ginger, mostly known as Gin here. I was the happiest gal around to find Prairiefans. I really thought I was the only one that was obsessed with LH, until I met this wild handful of terrific people. I live near Houston, TX. I am happily married (15yrs), and have two boys 13 and 9. I've been a child care provider for 15 yrs and am now pursuing a longtime dream to become a photographer. My love for children has helped me see that capturing their tender young moments on film is a treasure.
I am a christian woman that has seen the wonder in the power of prayer. I have started a thread called Prairie Prayers that I hope will help us all encourage our prayer life and give hope to those that have prayer requests. I also write a little, my next story will be posted soon around Father's Day. To everyone that comes across Prairiefans, you will be blessed by those you meet here and grasp the magic of "Laura". She and a little help from Lennon is why we are all here. Smiles...Gin

Little House is my #1 show, now and FOREVER My mom loves Little House too and because of her I became a fan!
I figure my father and brother both couldn't at least name 2 charcaters from Little House. Yeah, it's sad, rofl!

My name is Jennifer and I live in New Jersey where I have been a LHOTP fan all of my life. I am a 35 year old female and I always had a crush on Dean Butler and Matthew Laborteaux. I think they are the best actors around. LHOTP was a classic in my household. I love how we can see what it was like growing up in Laura Ingalls Wilder days and how it was so simple and serne. Most of the time. LOL
I hope that one day, when I have children, they can share the love I have for this great show.
Love and Blessings to all

I'm Larry, and like Jay, I grew up on Dukes of Hazzard, LHOP, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, stuff like that. As for occupation, I've done so many things under the sun to make a buck I don't know where to start!
I like reading books, playing on the 'net, playing a little guitar once in a while, and bugging my wife.
I've got three kids, all brats, and the newbies will notice as time goes by that I like to joke around a lot!
If you're new here, welcome aboard! This is the finest site I've seen for background info on any and all things LHOP, whether it be the NBC show, the ABC mini-series, the movies, the actors, the books, or LIW herself.
Have fun, and don't forget to close the screen door on your way in!

Welcome to the forum. It is really great to see people from all over the world who enjoy lhop. What I have noticed lately, that has really impressed me is the young age of several of the newer members. For alot of you, Little House was a new show on TV before you were born, so it just goes to show that the legacy of Little House in just as strong today as it was when it was brand new.
Again, welcome to the forum...

I'm Susie and I am a Mod here as well.
I married my high school sweetheart 14 1/2 years. We have 4 boys 13,6,5,3. We live in IL. right next to my daddy. My husband and I are self employed. I'm 33 years old,my b-day is Oct.14.
I had a wonderful childhood. We all was a bunch of hethems. We did not have much...we made the best out of what we had. We did not need material things to have a good time. I remember going swimming in the pond.fishing, making a mudd slide under the bridge, making a house in my dads corn field(big mistake we payed for that one),riding our bikes. To be a kid again....((((sighs))))
I think I started watching little house around 12 or so. My favorite person(s) on the show are Harriet and Laura and Almanzo. I own all nine dvd sets.
I enjoy taking long walks in the woods behind me, messing with my flower gardens.

I watched LH the first time it came on in the '70's. I own the LH board game that I bought off eBay. I treasure it. I brought the game into school last week and the kids loved playing the game.
My favorite person is Melissa Sue Anderson.
I have maybe 100-150 VHS movies. I love to go to garage sales which is where I bought 90% of my movies ! I bought the paintings "The Starry Night" by Vincent van Gogh and "Christina's World" by Andrew Wyeth at yard sales.

Yep that makes me old. I am 44 and have been happily married for almost 19 years. We have no children. I have met some wonderful friends here that I know will be part of my life for quite sometime. My Diva buddies share in my obsession of Dean Butler, and we have been known to get a little carried away. The guy still makes my heart flip all these years later, and still looks good turning 50... So if there are any other Dean fanatic's out there I look forward to chatting with you. For the rest of you'se thanks for putting up with us...

My name is Chris. I am a 41 year old Mom of 4 children and 2 stepchildren. All together we have 3 girls and 3 boys. And if you haven't figured it out yet...lol....we are a military family. At the moment I am a stay at home Mom, during the school year I am an educational assistant. I have a Wonderful husband named Mike, he is the love of my life and my rock.
I fell in love with LHOTP when I was a young girl when it first came on TV back in the 70's. I still watch it 4 times a day now when I'm not busy with other stuff. My youngest daughter doesn't understand why I like LHOTP and would rather watch Full House herself...LOL I can't say that I have a favorite character on the show because I love them all. When I can sit down and watch Little House I can forget about everything else going on in the world. It brings me back to a simpler time, that I sometimes wish I could go back to.
Misc....I LOVE the Green Bay Packers!! LOL I was born and raised in Wisconsin. The Military has taken me all over the world, but now I make my home in the beautiful Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon.
I stumbled upon this wonderful site one day when I was searching for anything LHOTP. At first I didn't post much, but I have found some wonderful friends here. I want to say Welcome to any new members here, you are going to love it. And Hi to all my friends I have already made. Have a Great Day Everyone!!!

| Hi everyone,
Nesslee here, I just want to introduce myself, I don't think I did this the last time I visited this site, but I thought I might now.
I am happily married to another LH fan (though not as diehard as I am). We have 2 kids, a 13 yr old daughter & 11 yr old son.
They too like LH.
We live in Ohio, not far from the PA border. Moved here 12 yrs ago from New Hampshire, my hubby, daughter and I are natives of New England, those two from NH, my self from MA. Our son however is the only one in our immediate (household) born in Ohio.
My hobbies are many:
Watchin' LH of course,
spendin' time with family and friends
sewing
genealogy (which has lead me to find that both my hubby and my self, kids too of course) are distant cousins of Almanzo Wilder, I'm connected through Almanzo's 3rd g grandparents, John Wilder Jr. & Sarah White.
My hubby is connected through Almanzo's 2nd g grparents, William Wilder & Sarah Sawyer. (they are in fact, John Jr.'s son and dau. in law)I could go on forever, but I think you get the picture.
At any rate, my daughter (also coincedentally named Sarah)thinks it's cool.
My other hobbies are photography (just run of the mill, takin' pictures when the occasion calls for it.)
& being an advocate for my son, A.J. who has autism.
I think that's about it for now. Hope to hear from anyone soon.
feel free to email me.
bye for now,
Nesslee

I remember Monday Nights being my favorite night of the week. 7:30 the Muppet show and I loved Little House so my mom would let me go to bed later on Monday Nights.
I still cry at episodes I've seen dozens of times. "Times are Changing" was just on and I'm bawling as Pa is saying goodbye to his little house.
Now my children love the show too. My daughter chose Laura for her Halloween costume this year!

| I thought it would be a good idea to bump up this old thread because we've had so many new members come on board lately. Welcome to all of you. There is a lot at PT to check out. And don't forget to look at Lennon's blog and the Prairie fans website for even more cool stuff.

| Hi everyone,
I´m a 19 year old girl from Denmark and I have been a fan of Little House like forever! I remember watching it a lot when I was a little kid and it aired on TV. Then, the show stopped and many years later, I decided to get all of it on DVD, because I really missed it. It´s my all-time favorite TV show.
I don´t think I have one favorite episode all though I do love "I´ll be waving as you drive away". It was such an amazing and powerful episode. I also like "Sweet Sixteen" and so many others.
I like all of the charachters in the series but mostly Charles, Mary, Laura, Adam, Almanzo, Albert, Reverend Alden, Doctor Baker, and then theres that poor man Nels Oleson. Harriet is also quite a funny charachter, and it´s very easy to get upset with her :)
My hobbies are:
Anything related to the Christian faith(Christian Movies, books, music, meetings and more).
Genealogy (I spend a lot of time with this).
Archeology (love to study and read about recent discoveries).
History (anything from the beginning of the world up to yesterday).
Animal protection
Movies (mostly history, romance, musical, comedy and drama genres)
Music - My favorite singers are Judy Garland, Johnny Cash (who once appeared on LHOP :D), Elvis, Frank Sinatra and many more.
I am also a huge family person (my family means everything to me).
So nice meeting you all!

| We were all new once. Actually, I was a member before Lennon created this board. Yeah, I've been around a while. It was a big change to come to this new one, but I love it. And Lennon has done a wonderful job of continuing to bring us lots of great stuff.
I'm glad to see so many new people joining lately too. New people get to give their perspectives on some of the older threads, which sparks new discussions all over again.
Welcome to PT.

| Hi everyone, I'm Susanne. I'm 25 years old and come from Denmark. Little House on the Prairie has been my favorite show since I recall watching it the first time - must have been about 11-12 years old then. My favorite character is Mary, then the rest of the Ingalls'. Favorite episodes are "I'll Be Waving As You Drive Away", "Whisper Country", "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and many others...
I'm a Christian and my favorite book is the Bible. I like reading in general, but have not read much the last few years.... I guess I got tired of it with all the reading I had to do in school But I'm beginning to pick up on it again.
My family consists of (my mum and dad, of course) two older sisters, a big brother and a younger brother. Both my sisters are married, and I now have 3 nephews and three nieces alltogether I love kids!
It's nice to hear your stories, and would be great to hear from the rest of you.
PS. Hi GreatDane! It's fun to meet another here from Denmark!

Unfortunately one of my sisters lives in Norway, but I still see her family about 5-6 times a year. She's got 4 kids, they're all coming home for Easter

I don't even remeber when I first started watching Little House. I remember it was on after school when I was growing up but it went off the air and I didn't watch it again until I moved and got cable :) My favorite character on the show is Mary and my favorite episode from the show is Matter of Faith.

| Hello everyone
I'm new here so I thought I'd post an introduction. My name is April. I live in NW Arkansas, my husband is British (we met online back in the "old days" before message boards and chat rooms were commonplace! LOL) I have been a huge Little House on the Prairie fan since I was just little. I have read all the books so many times my set is about to fall apart, and I have always loved the show. Now that we have Netflix, I've been working my way through all the episodes on DVD.
We live only about 2-1/2 hours from Laura & Almanzo's farm in Mansfield. We were up there a month or so ago since I've been reading the stories to my boys. We hope to go again in September for the Wilder Days festival.

| Hi!
I know this topic's a bit old, but my name is Lexus, and m a 14 year old girl in Wisconsin. Ive been on Prairie Talk since Sep. 6, 2010. Ive been a diehard fan of Little House since 3rd or 4th grade. Im in high school right now, so... Anyway, I started out reading the books, (which I love also), then when i was channel surfing one day, I heard the name "Charles Ingalls" on TV, and im thinking, "OMG! They made a tv show out of it?!"I was so happy. I bought the first season in 6th grade. I now have all the seasons, and watched all the episodes. I dont know if the Pilot counts though. Anyway, my favorite character is Dr. Baker, my favorite episode is Doctor's Lady, and my favorite guest star is Anne Archer. I watch this episode literally every day. Im the biggest fan of this episode, hence my pen name. In fact, im even watching it rite now. LOL! I really wished they gotten married. But they are so cute 2gether! Anyway Im sorta new, so....
P.S. If anyone knows how i can get one of those keeper pictures, ill sure apreciate it.
"Children. Can any of you spell compassion? Can any of you spell understanding? Will any of you tell us the meaning of these words? Well don't feel bad children. I don't think Mrs. Oleson knows the meanings of these words either." |

| Hello I am Eric, I am French but living in Montreal, Canada (since 1999).
I first watched LHOTP at 12, when it first aired in France in 1976.
I never stopped loving it... I had the chance to meet several actors and actresses from the show, and I have visited the Big Sky Ranch where the show was filmed in Simi Valley.
I often make videos, using my huge photo collection... here is a link to the last one I just did:

| I haven't done this before, but glad to. I'm Tammie Makowiecki, known as 'tammiemak'. I am a Christian widow who lost my husband to lung cancer in March 2005. I grew up watching 'Little House' and can't get enough of reruns! I was a HUGE fan of Michael Landon and will forever be grateful to him for putting 'Little House' on the air. I didn't read the books until after the series started, but LOVED them. I like wholesome TV, which there is very little of on these days, so I mainly watch reruns of LHOTP, and other shows such as 'Family Matters' and 'Full House'. I LOVE this fan site and will be glad when somebody is able to do the personal 'signatures' or whatever you call them (I forget) wehere your favorite thing is your personal keepsake in your signature. Mine would be the phrase 'Nells, make her a widow' with the picture of Mrs Olsen pointing her finger at Luke! I would also love it if somebody would post current addresses for the surviving cast members so I could write them and let them know what the show and their contribution meant to me. I was priveledged to have Kevin Hagen as a pen pal just before he died, and I have some autographed pics and his CD where he recorded a lot of old songs. I miss all those who have passed on, especially Michael.

| Thanks for bumping up this thread. It has been a long time since we've done this.
I think most of you know me. My name is Cheryl. I have been with Lennon and PT since before we had this board. While PT hasn't been a busy place lately, we had tons of stuff going on for quite a few years and some of the LHOP cast members dropped in from time to time. Brian Part (Carl Sanderson Edwards) still pops in on occasion.
I am a children's author and online book publicist. My first Christian children's book, Little Shepherd, was released this August and I have several other projects in the works.
I've been a diehard LHOP fan since the show first aired. I had a crush on Michael Landon, but that all changed as soon as Dean Butler joined the cast. I started a group that is called Dean's Divas. It began from something here at PT. Our little group helped to convince Dean that he needed to create a website so his fans could keep in touch with what he's doing.
Several of the divas have met Dean in person and I had the chance to interview him by phone when his documentary, Almanzo Wilder: Life Before Laura was released. He's currently working on a documentary of Laura, which he showed at some LHOP events over the summer. Last I knew, this doc is being considered by PBS.
In addition to my professional writing, when I have time--which isn't lately--I write LHOP and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman fanfiction stories. Many of the LHOP ones are posted here in the fanfiction section. The entire list of stories is posted at www.fanfiction.net under my penname of ccmal.
That's it from me. I enjoyed learning more about our current members of PT. Please feel free to share this link with other LHOP fans. We are always happy to see new members here.

| Hi, I'm Mike. I usually check this forum daily for posts although it has been quiet lately. I live in Texas right now, but I grew up in several states such as Nebraska, Montana, and Wyoming. I've also lived in California and Colorado. I will be graduating from the University of North Texas in December with a Masters in Library Science.
I started watching Little House when it started airing in the 1970's. The main reason I watched the show was because of Melissa Sue Anderson. I had a big crush on her. In 2007, I created the website, www.melissasueandersonfan.com as a tribute to her career. I was fortunate to meet her twice at both of her book signings in Colorado. We talked for about 30 minutes and have kept in touch through e-mail since. She is very nice and it was a great thrill to meet her in person.
