Little Women -- Episode Review10-31-2008 2:04:06 am
Miss Beadle allows the children to put together skits to act out for their parents. Mary and Laura team up with Nellie Oleson and Ginny Clark (who we'll never see again after this episode) in a short scene from Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women".

Being Harriet, Mrs. Oleson takes over the whole thing, writing tons of lines for Nellie and giving Laura one line. She even hires a really wig maker to design a wig for Nellie's character.

Ginny's widowed mother is unknowingly neglectful of Ginny and the girl takes a liking to Mr. Mayfield. When Ginny brings home a new dress for her mother to wear to the play, her mother insists that Mr. Mayfield bought it and refuses to come watch Ginny perform. After Mr. Mayfield sets her straight, Ginny's mother accompanies him to the school and learns that Ginny sold her beautiful hair to the wigmaker to buy the dress.

A humorous side to this episode is Willie trying to get anyone to work with him on Tom Sawyer, which ends up with horrible results...at least for Willie anyway.

I love this episode. Nellie is acting like Nellie and Harriet is being, well, Harriet. Laura looks so ticked as she smacks one hand into the other pretending to sew. Willie is a total goof ball and pays for it.

Poor Ginny sells her hair and then her mother refuses to come to the play. Now that's harsh. Who cares who bought the dress? She should go because Ginny is in it. The episode really makes you think of how we parents treat our children as we try to deal with our own problems.

I give this episode two

It's been a while since I've seen Little Women.Nellie's wig was ugly.I feel sorry for Ginny anytime I watch the episode. She tried so hard to get her mother to agree to see her in the play. Her mother was mean to her.Her mother didn't believe her when Ginny told her she bought the dress, not Mr.Mayfield.Willie coming into the school covered in paint was funny.Leave it to Mrs.Oleson to write most of the lines for her "precious" Nellie.

One of those episodes where you weren't sure if Nellie or her mother needed a spanking more.

Little Women was a great episode. I loved the part with Willie being chased by the dog. I thought that nellies wig was pretty before it went curly.

Just watched this episode and it is one of my favorites as it has so much humor in it. However, I did notice one thing I had not really noticed before on Ginny Clark. It is quite obvious that both her regular long hair and her short hair cut after it was chopped off are wigs and I think really fake looking ones. I noticed outside the school where Mary, Laura and Ginny are discussing doing Little Women and Nellie is inviting herself to be in the play that Ginny's hair looked really bad and fake, kinda like a cheap blonde wig.

After the play and Ginny runs out to see Mr Mayfield with her chopped off hair, it looks equally bad as a fake looking chopped off wig. I thought Nellie's black wig looked better than what the make up people put on Ginny to wear as real hair ..Just my two cents on it is all.

I agree..........at least Nellie's wig had some shine to it! Ginny's hair looked like something on a worn-out barbie doll. But this is an awsome episode!

That is IT exactly, her hair in both the long wig and short chopped wig looked like a worn out Barbie Doll's hair
