| I think I have mentioned I have been re-watching the whole series in order on DVD again and noticing details this time around.
In the Season 3 Election Episode where Elmer is elected school president his Mom makes him a special new shirt to wear for the election day. He wears it to school and the two school bullies push him in the mud before he gets to school in it.
The shirt shows up again in Season 3 this time on Carl Sanderson Edwards in Gold Country the two part episode. I cannot remember now if he has it on the whole time in both episodes or just for a bit.
In Season 4 which I am now watching it showed up on Andy Garvey in the Creeper of Walnut Grove.
I hope I have this all right, forgot to write it down to be sure. Will keep my eyes open for it rest of Season 4 and in future seasons as I progress.

| Oh, that's neat that you noticed that. Kent spoke of their wardrobe department when I interviewed him. He mentioned that they would reuse pieces, sometimes dying them a different color when they were passed often to other children.
He also mentioned that they made 6 articles of the same clothing so that when one got dirty it could be laundered and the character still had that costume available for shooting.

| That is neat and interesting that you got to talk to Kent about the wardrobe for the cast. It makes sense they would reuse clothes budget wise with as many kids as they had on the show as regulars and guest stars over the years.
It looked the same color to me, but it could have been a differnt color brown I suppose. Only reason I noticed it is that the material is a bit differnt, very rough looking coarse material.

| That happened with Mary's good blue Sunday dress that Ma made for her and Laura in season one. A girl is shown wearing a very faded blue dress of the same material in one episode in the later seasons. I believe she was in the episode Gambini The Great.

| Also Carrie have blue sunday dress that Mary's then Laura's then now Carrie. I notice other girl have faded dress in season 8.
in Uncle Jed, Cassandra told him that she have best sunday dress that belong to Mary but some scene in church (any episodes in season 8), she not use blue dress.
and Cassandra wore red dress, that belong to Carrie?
and Grace wore green tht belong to Carrie but it different because the sleeves was cut and use elastic for her sleeves (It was so big for Grace) and other white dress that belong to Carrie, also Carrie's old blue sunday dress for Grace, it look cute on Grace but she not wear bow like Carrie had. in early season (1 and 2), Carrie have 2 dresses while Laura and Mary have 3 dresses. then season 3-8, Carrie have 3 dresses.

| That is very cool about Elmers shirt form election, I will have to look for that in season 4. With Carolines dress from the Christmas dinner in the pilot, Almanzo's date is wearing it in the circus episode (Laura only bastes the skirt and then purposly pours water on her ). Also Carolines blouse that she wares for the first three seasons the one with the blue flowers Molly Weirden in Second Spring wears it there.

| Oh, you're right about Christie Norton's dress! I knew I saw it somewhere before and it was driving me crazy.

| Did you ever notice that Michael Landon wore a purple shirt on Bonanza and it looked similar to the one Dean Butler wore on Little House.

| I often wondered why you never saw Caroline's "Sunday" dress from the pilot again. It was a pretty dress and it seemed strange that all the other wardrobe made the transition from the pilot to the series except for that one.
I'll have to check Christie Norton's dress out and compare it to Caroline's.

| I agree Caroline's dress from the pilot was pretty I don't know why they did not keep it for Caroline to wear to church either, but her brown dress didn't look that bad.
Has anyone ever notice that in the early season Caroline wears moslty blues and colors that are not as bright. And in the the later seasons she wears more oranges and rust colors?

| It seems that everyone's shirts (or dress) had passed around. I wonder if Mr. Edward's shirt was ever passed around?

| I have noticed that yes Caroline's everyday skirts and blouses are bluish prints and tones in earlier seasons and more brown and orange based later seasons.
Found another outfit item that was passed along yesterday.
In the Season 6 episode of Second Spring, I am pretty sure the boarding house lady where Nels says, Molly Riordan is wearing one of Caroline's old blue and tan blouses in the first scene she is shown with Nels.
