Time Travel: The Ingalls in the 21st Century03-21-2006 5:03:42 am
Prairie Talk:

I know we have many talented writers on this forum, and I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone would think if the Ingalls family was zapped out of there time period while sleeping in the Little House and waking up on today?s date in a modern day hotel. What would they think? You can use the TV Ingalls or the real Ingalls in this discussion. Just think of the technology, books, and etc. they would see...

Onward and Upward,
Lennon

Actually, I was thinking about writing something on the lines of that. I started writing a story where Mary, Laura, and Carrie switch lives with the Mary, Lucy, and Ruthie of 7th Heaven. It is kind of like a freaky friday thing where they switch bodies. I don't know if anyone would like that though.

Your idea is good, plus it involves the whole Ingalls family in the 21st century. Maybe, if I find the time can write that as well. There are many other talented writers here and they certaintly can write this plot too. It would be interesting to read a bunch of different versions of this story idea.

I'm not much into the whole fantasy and time travel thing, but I'm sure there are other talented writers out there who might be interested.

The only fantasy I have at this point is becoming published.

I also had an idea similar to this. It would be sort of like 13 going on 30... only not, of course. Laura would end up here in the year 2006 and so would everyone else. Only they would be of this time and not hers. I'm not sure if I will end up writing it or not, but if any of you are interested... I will try to work on it!

interesting idea
be really weird to read about your own death as they would - specially Laura - and how would Grace take learning she died before Carrie?

I think I like the 3rd idea. Make it an exciting, yet inspirational case. Great spin for the fan fiction..good luck.

laura saw quite a lot living through two centuries...but i think that she would have been fascinated to see how small the world has become these days and how much science and technology have advanced since the time of her death in 1957....and as someone mentioned above, the computer and the internet...
