Oh Christmas Tree11-08-2007 2:15:01 pm
Does anyone have their Christmas tree up yet? In my family it has always been tradition to put the tree up and decorate it the day after Thanksgiving. But this year because of my busy work schedule I am planning on putting it up a few days before Thanksgiving. I have heard of familys setting the tree up but waiting until Christmas eve to decorate it. Does anyone have any interesting Christmas tree traditions?

My tree doesn't go up until a couple weeks before Christmas. We get a real one and I leave it up until the weekend of New Years. So the answer to your question is NO!!

Now ask that question to Diva Cheryl and she will probably tell you she has 3 of them up...lol

That woman loves Christmas!!

I don't have my tree up yet either. I'm with Lorrie on this one. We always get a real tree every year and put it up about a week and a half before Christmas then take it down right after New Years. We have a few traditions when it comes to Christmas tree decorating. First off the hubby always puts the lights on for me, I don't have the patience for it...LOL and my kids always help put the decorations on. And every year we have a different person put the angel on top of the tree. It's the very last thing we do. I also always have Christmas music playing when we decorate, it helps get us all in the Christmas mood.

Ours generally goes up Thanksgiving night, or sometime over that weekend.

Let's see, is it 3 I have up or is it more. Four are up inside the house and one is on the porch. That only leaves 10 more to deal with (6 are tiny ones I stake in the ground). Woo-hoo, I love this time of year.

Sometimes they are up until March. I figure if there is still snow on the ground I can get away with it. But once spring hits, I take out the lighted Easter egss for the front lawn and I need to move my trees out of that spot.

We usually put ours up on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I am really looking forward to doing so.

We always get a live tree too. We usually get ours the second week of December and take it down before New Year's. I'm curious to see how Lucy (our Golden Retreiver) is going to act around the tree. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of Lucy NO and don't drink the water

I set up our tree last night. It was so fun. It just puts me in a better mood when I see it.

Here's our main tree in the living room from last year. I'm sure it will look similiar this year...unless the girls decorate all of it, which will leave 3/4 of the tree without ornaments.

WE DON'T GET A REAL ONE
ANYMORE NOT SINCE THE TREE
INJURE OF 1988. THAT YEAR I
WAS PINNED UNDER THE TREE FOR
OVER THREE HOURS...

AS FOR THE TREE GOING UP SINCE WE JUST
MOVED HERE IN JULY AND THE PASSING OF
MY FATHER,I HAVEN'T GOTTEN TIME TO PUT
IT UP YET...THE FIRST REALLY GOOD CHRISTMAS
SHOW MIGHT BE ENOUGH TO GET US ALL IN THE
MOOD TO DIG THRU BOXES TO FIND ORNAMENTS
AND A SPOT TO PUT UP ATLEAST ONE IF NOT
MORE TREES...
