| I loved Laura and Albert's relationship in seasons 5 & 6, but I can totally agree with you when Laura grew up. They didn't even act like they where siblings anymore. What a shame! I also didn't like Laura and Willie's relationship when she grew up. It just wasn't the same! I mean when they were lovable little kids, Laura hated how annoying Willie was, and Willie didn't care much for Laura. Great! They were always soo funny together, but by season 7, POOF! The Laura, Willie magic was gone. Laura just acted like she was his adult commander and he was just an average student who she isn't familliar with. She is only like 4 years older than him and still a teenager too! She treated Albert like Willie too. I bet Melissa Gilbert and Jonathan had alot of fun pushing eachother around when they were little, but I don't know what it was like when Melissa had to teach the school and Jon had to be her student! Maybe Laura didn't want to get the impression the she was a little girl anymore[man, that was her pet peeve with Manly], but she could've goofed around with Albert outside of school, which she never did. That all seems so strange!

| The change made sense to me. Laura gets married at the beginning of Season 7. She is settling into life as a married woman, which brings a lot of changes for her. Speaking as an old married lady; even if you've dated someone for a while, being married is very different. You really have to be dedicated to your marriage to make it work. There is still a lot that you're unsure of, and your life isn't your own anymore. And since Laura didn't live in the same house anymore, her time spent with Albert was cut back. Their relationship changed as Albert began to focus on growing up and Laura focused on her marriage.
As far as the way she treated Willie and Albert at school, I think she was trying to make sure she didn't play favorites. She probably went to school with some of the younger students before too, so she had to find a way to get them to listen to her. It's hard to make that transition from peer to leader. If Laura didn't show them she was in control, she never would have been able to teach school in Walnut Grove.

| I loved their relationship. It was like Albert was with the Ingalls since birth. Laura did ALOT of maturing in the time when Albert first came to live with them and when she married Almanzo. She took on more of a big sister role. It was still evident though that she cared and loved for Albert deeply.
