| I read over at Noble Entertainment website (in Swedish though) that a DVD/rental of these films are coming out on April 8, 2009.
The site is Swedish and very reliable. Here's my source:
http://www.nobleentertainment.com/pub/release.details.php?qid=548
I do hope it's true.

| Cool I wouldn't mind a DVD copy myself, my recorded VHS versions are too bulky. Thanks Sophia .

| I'll try and ask some higher sources for more details. As many of you know... some titles are released years before we get them in other countries. I've tried for years to obtain the film To Sir With Love 2 that came out in the late 90s, but have had no luck. However, it is released in the UK and would require me to purchase a seperate player to watch.
Again, I'll look into this. A few years ago I tried to get this done and provide interviews with the cast as exclusive bonus features but not enough interest was made. On this forum in general rarely has any interest in the movies or its cast. I think if they are shown more that would pick up, but both movies have been on the air through the years some more than others but they have been on the air, just no interest because so many people have set an image of Mike's show.

And I have to say that makes me very sad because I've seen both Beyond the Prairie movies, and while, yes, it was strange seeing other actors in the roles we are used to seeing Melissa Gilbert, Michael Landon, and the others in, these movies are so well done, and much closer to the books than the show ended up being. That's not a criticism of Michael, he just had a different vision for what the show should be--and it obviously worked.
I thought your interview with the writer of the Beyond the Prairie movies was very insightful as to what they were trying to accomplish with their telling of Laura's story.
BTW, any news on what Meredith Monroe and the cast of BTP are up to these days?

| I agree, Cheryl. These are wonderul movies and very true to the books. I've told others, but not sure if I ever mentioned it on the forum but if you watch the Disney version and watch the first Beyond the Prairie movie its almost like the Disney film was a pre-quel. Laura in Beyond the Prairie talks about a lot of things that the Disney Laura did. It's really neat.

| I really need to sit down and get myself reaquainted with these movies it's been a while since I've seen them. I have to admit from my personal viewpoint I like the Beyond the Prairie series better then the Disney (Sorry Kyle).

| I hope so as well. I told my wife that I played Clarence the bully in a Little House on the Prairie movie and she still doesn't believe me. I still never got to see myself on film because I missed the first showing and was out of country on the second. I read a couple forum threads and it looks like, for the most part, this has been a lost cause getting copies.
Oh well here is to hoping.

| Sorry for the late reply. I just started school at UC Berkeley and it has been a mad house. To be honest, I only remember filming a couple scenes so I would be interested in whatever you have.
Thanks a lot!

| I really hope these become available on DVD, as I haven't seen any of these movies before and I doubt they will ever be played on TV here. Fingers crossed.

| The DVD is indeed out and available for purchase. It comes as a box set of both Beyond the Prairie 1 & 2.
Unfortunately you can only buy it in Kroner (I think).

Noble Entertainment is the foreign distributor.
They hooked me up with a copy because I was in it. Here is a clip of my goofball acting.

| Most Swedish online dvd stores sell it, but I can't think of any who ships outside Scandinavia. (Ginza doesn't even ship outside Sweden). (i got mine at www.discshop.se) (if you need help getting it let me know)
Also, keep in mind that the dvd is in Region 2 (not Region 1 which you get in the USA), so make sure your dvd player is multi-region or you won't be able to watch the movie.

| Oh wow,gbtwins... I tried looking at that website you gave us, www.discshop.se but I totally don't understand how to get around it since it's in a different language. I would love to order it, but I'd need a little more direction on where to go and how to do it.
