| Well, the wife left a window open all week-end, and I am now overloaded with flies,(she says it's cuz I forgot to take the trash off, but what does she know?)
I am now engaged in two-fisted battle with the flies, and hope to come out victorious (I've got 2 fly swatters...they're pretty cool, the swatter part looks like a big hand)
I've got some AC/DC and Def Leppard playing (just a little psy-ops, for you military types) If the battle looks like it may turn against me, I may engage in a little chemical warfare (a can of Raid), some mine fields (fly strips), and if that all fails, I'm unleashing a WMD (sit outside and let off a fly-bomb)
Y'all wish me luck in this battle, as I intend to emerge victorious

| Good lord Larry, your killing me.

You house sounds like mine in the summer
. I live next to several farmers.
After they spread manure on the fields, the flies come from all over. Those blasted little devels.

Just don't send them my way. I have not seen any so far this year.(knock on wood)

| Well, the first wave was kinda hard, and I wondered if I would make it there for a while, but my cat decided to jump in and help, so with the reinforcements, it didn't go bad. I think we should be able to end the war very soon, with minimal losses to our side (wow..I'd make a great US President!)

| The downside is, the Prime Minister (my wife) called a temporary cease-fire cuz I was making too much noise. Battle resumed after she went to work.

| *ROFL* So, who ended up winning?
If we don't hear from Larry soon, we may have to send in a search party.
Let me know what works Larry. We battle them all summer long. They love my dog and tend to come in with her. My cat helps some and we do the fly swatter thing. What's worse is that they are the biting flies. I hate those things!!!

I hate flies, and even with screens on the windows, they seem to find their way in.......I finally went to our farmer's co-op and bought the timed sprayers and every 15 minutes, it sprays bug spray. I start with a bug bomb to get any hidden critters left over from the winter, then let the timed sprayer get the rest. It takes care of flies, skeeter-eaters and those daddy long-legs and any other flyer thing that decides its brave enough to enter our home......I have ours over the back door, away from the kitchen/dining area and away from the animals water/food bowls.....It's WORKS and it's WORTH IT!!! Trust me!!!

| OK, I have tried 4 times to get my last post to take......it doesn't use my purple font, so I guess I was right about Lennon not liking the purple font.......Is there a glich in the system or did some of Larry's flies get in here???? It won't even take my smiley icon......

| Those fly stripes work great, Larry. I usually have to put one up by summer's end on my back porch - just be careful if you have birds. My daughter's cockatiel got stuck in it last summer!
Poor thing. I think he's still trying to grow some feathers back!

| Does anyone get deer flys? At our house from July-September we get deer flys horribley. Probably because we live right next to a swamp. They swarm around your head and they bite. Ouch. So my parents invested in a camper to escape the horrible little creaters. At least on the weekends.
