Whose Cast Memoir Would You Like to Read Next?07-19-2012 8:27:50 am
So far three main stars from LHOP have released memoirs (Alison Arngrim, Melissa Gilbert and Melissa Sue Anderson). Missy Francis has one coming out this fall. Whose cast memoir would you like to read next?

Dean Butler is my first choice. He's taken his time on LHOP and turned it into a profitable career behind the camera. He recently filmed a documentary on Laura Ingalls Wilder that was shown on PBS as part of their pledge drive. After that, I would love to read one by Karen Grassle, Jason Bateman, and Charlotte Stewart.

I would love to read one by Karen Grassle but if she hasn't by now, she probably wont.
I hear Melissa Gilbert was writing a "Prairie Memories" book, but B&N and Amazon don't have even a tentative date and they were talking about it last year about May. It would be nice though, mostly her answering questions fans have asked.

There was talk that Karen was writing a book, but I haven't heard anything lately. I wonder if Melissa Gilbert's book was temporarily delayed because of her split with Bruce. Hopefully we'll see some news soon.

The link I saw from last year had an aol address I think the fan got from her "twitter" account to ask questions about Little House. I sent one and it didn't come back as a bad address but I didn't get a reply either.
When I looked at her Twitter recently, she had snippets about her trip to Paris a lunch with LHOP friends, but no mention of her book. I'm sure it wont be as big a seller as her previous one but nice to answer questions old fans of the show have.

Few years ago, Greenbush twins wrote book but never publish it.
I have not see Melissa Anderson's book for about 1 year or more. I wonder why it stopped. I did not see it in Barnes and Noble book store anymore. I see Missy Gilbert and Alison books in same store.

Do you mean actually seeing it in the store, they probably wont order more unless someone asks, but you can order it on amazon or B & N

There has to be a need for it especially with Melissa not being in the public eye now to have them in the store after the first year.

Bookstores can't afford to stock what doesn't sell. Melissa Anderson's book didn't do as well as her castmates', which is a shame, because I think fans really wanted to hear from her because she had been away from TV for so long. Alison's seems to have done the best. It is still on Amazon's bestsellers list.

I would also like to hear from Karen and Dean.

Concerning Melissa Gilberts sequel, when I saw her last September at an Art of Recovery Expo in Phoenix, I had a chance to talk to her contact with the group she was representing and to her.

He indicated to me that this was the toughest time Melissa has ever experienced in her life and that the sequel was being put off indefinately.

When she spoke to the audience of over 150 people, I was so impressed with her candor, compassion, humor and honesty. But she admitted that she was exhuasted and was going on adrenalin. All I could think of was how Mike Landon would be proud of her and how moved I was to listen to her story. I got a chance to meet her afterward for an autograph and picture and I encouraged her to keep plugging. As tired as she was, she kept signing until there was noone left in line. An hour speech and an hour of autographs on 4 hours of sleep and dealing with all her upset. Wow!

I sincerely pray that she will complete the book---in fact I would be very surprised if she has not started already.

Thanks for that update, I just wish in all her "twittering" and Facebooking, etc. she mentioned that fact. If she doesn't want to do it, that's fine, it seemed like a lot less work answering questions than writing her past book which was a lot of her history. Right now, she is traveling in Europe.

I hope it comes out, I don't know if the "question email" is still active, but I submitted a couple of questions just in case.

So much time has gone by Half Pint, that I guess it's possible she has decided to not do the book. I am not a "twitter" or on facebook so I am not privy to what she has posted.
I wish she would get on here once in a while although she may be looking but not posting.

Did you see my suggestion for a year by year picking our favorite episodes that I posted ?
D

No I didn't, what was it that you were asking, to pick a favorite show every year?
I don't twitter either, but I saw a link about the book that lead to her "twitter" account and an email about asking questions.
