Visiting Little House Sites04-26-2012 12:28:48 am
Hi there. I am new to the site here and was hoping for some help. I am planning a road trip to visit various Laura Ingalls home towns this summer, and found this website during my online search. I have been having fun reading some various links :)

I imagine some of you fans have visited the various Little House sites and was looking for advise and hints of which sites/museums/homes, etc are best to visit. I know I definitely want to see Walnut Grove, DeSmet, and Mansfield.

Any advise or must sees?

Thanks!

I visited Walnut Grove, Minnesota in July 2008. There is really nice museum. You can wading in plum creek (it is not really cold water!), and I did have fun time and I wish there is museum in Simi Valley, California, that where they used to filmed there long time ago.

Hi there and welcome to the board. De Smet is a must and I would recommend staying a a couple of days to see most of the key things in detail without being rushed. All the sites are terrific though. I would recommend that you read The Little House Guidebook by William Anderson. It provides plenty of great advice and lists all the things to see at each site. I am visiting all the homesites again this summer also. Who knows, our paths may cross!
