| “THE CAMPOUT”
When Ms. Beadle assigns a leaf-gathering project to her students, Mary and Laura are excited to find all kinds of unique leaves on an upcoming camping trip with the family. Determined to see her own children receive equal opportunities, Harriet convinces her husband to let their family tag along with the Ingalls'. Although the two families have a difficult time adjusting to this extended period of time together, they gradually come to have a deeper respect for one another--but that doesn't mean that Nellie, Willie, and Harriet won't be traveling home with a less-than-desirable surprise.
A great episode! I love Harriett on this one. She really is too funny. I love seeing Caroline’s face expression as she sees and hears Mrs. Oleson, Caroline looks like she wants to laugh out loud but holds it in. Nellie was a brat on this episode, very winey when Laura was helping her out of the water… Laura really showed her patience lol. I like the moment Caroline and Harriet shared when they where waiting for their girls… but alas… all that vanished as soon as the girls came and Nellie accused Laura of pushing her into the water.
Okay, there is one thing I don’t get. How come Ms. Beadle could not tell that the Oleson kids had turned in some poison ivy leaves? Mary identified it quickly… Ms Beadle I’m sure have had to read up on leaves recently as she assigned the project… but she still couldn’t tell… lol
Anyway, a fun episode. Two thumbs up for all around fun.

| This episode is definitely one of my early favorites. I love how the Olesons try to out do the Ingalls on this whole camping expierence. The change of character in Harriet is just helarioius. Her trying to be the perfect wife like Caroline, setting up the camp while the menfolk go fishing. Then burning the fish that Nels catches because she inisists on cooking them like a good wife.
Then theres the Oleson kids trying to out do the Ingalls girls in getting the most and prettiest leaves for their collection. You can't help but laugh when Mary and Laura keep the secret hidden that they know that Willie grabbed poision ivy leaves for his collection. Funny.. funny stuff .

| I enjoyed this episode. The look on Charles' face was priceless when he found out Harriet was going. I laughed when he told Caroline that he was canceling the trip. Nellie's whining and lack of cooperation irritated me and I thought it was hilarious when she ended up with poison ivy.

| Wow.. what a big avatar you have there Paula.
I always love that look on Michaels face whenever he hears news his ears don't like to hear. Its kinda the same look as in the episode "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" where He, Caroline and Laura are eating at Nellies after Lauras return from Sleepy Eye and Laura says you'll never guess who I saw in Sleepy Eye? To which Caroline says "Who"? Then Laura says Almanzo and Caroline says "you don't say, what a small world it is". Then Charles shoots her that same look.. funny...One of my favorite expressions of his!!

| Hi Lorrie, Sorry that my avatar is so big. I tried to make it smaller but it is still too big. Any suggestions on how to make it smaller? Any help would be greatly apprecaited!!
Yes, Michael was the master of facial expressions. He was wonderful. He passed away much too young.

| Hi Paula,
What ever you last did seemed to have helped some you just need to go one more size smaller. I assume you have your avatar image stored at photobucket. You can resize your image there for Avatar size, thats what I do.
I love that photo of Michael though...

| Thanks Lorrie. However, I have my avatar stored at a site other than photobucket. I will see what I can do about it.
