anybody play little house on the prarie ?07-17-2007 2:42:47 am
My friends (neighbors) and I watched the original series while we were growing up in Dutchess County, NY. We had a big field that was on our road and we would set up the whole set and each time play the different characters. I have so many memories from those times... Did anyone else do this as well when in childhood?

I started watching LHOTP when I was 12. I didn't pretend to be one of the characters, but then again, I didn't live in an Ingalls area enviroment, LOL! It sounded like you guys had a lot of fun!

My younger brother and I would always act out parts of Little House episodes usually parts with Laura, Nellie, and Willie. He would always get stuck playing the part of Nellie or Willie and I would always get to play Laura. I remember we did a renactment of the part where Laura and Nellie are mud wrestling and our mom saw the two of us rolling around in this giant mud puddle she about killed me for making my brother (who was only about 6 or 7 at the time) wrestle with me. But my brother didn't care that he was covered in mud. We would also act out parts where Laura was fighting with Nellie or Willie where Laura ended up punching or slapping them (those parts were always me favorite but my brother hated those parts)

I didn't try to reinact the serise when I was younger because, I didn't even know about the Little House serise until I was about 13 or 14. But I did reinact parts from the book serise, I would pretend to be Laura exploring the prairie in the pasture and the fields of our farm, I would also pretend I was on a long journey waking through the woods or fields. I would also pretend to be an older version of Laura or Caroline when helping with the cooking. Most of all I day dreamed that the charactors form the books and later on the show where actually there with me or I was back in time living the life of the Ingalls.

That would be awesome if we could go back in time and live a day back then.

I actually remember that show!! There was a girl who was about 12 that got to do the show that they kept talking about in my favorite magazine at the time, American Girl. They compared the show with Little House, actually. I think that was when I went, "hey, there's a show of Little House?" and started to get interested!!

"Times are sure changing. Its sad, ain't it?"

I asked my grandmother once if she ever met laura and she no, that she didn't even know her until i started talking about it. I was really surprised! I am so lucky to have a best friend who is interested in little house as much as i am. I am trying to bring my other friends to like it but it isn't going well Oh well, i got Taylor!
