| After constant hounding, Laura finally lets Nellie ride Bunny, with disasterous results. Having been knocked off the horse, Nellie seems to be paralyzed from the waist down. Out of guilt--doubled by Mrs. Oleson--Laura begins to care for Nellie, becoming her slave.
When Laura accidentally discovers that Nellie has been faking the whole thing, she takes matters into her own hands and Nellie ends up going for the ride of her life.

| This has to be one of Nellie's worst and meanest moments. She allows not only Laura, but also her mother who adores her, to believe she can't walk. Is there no limit to her cruelty? It was very satisfying to see her get what was coming to her in the end.

| That was funny when Nellie got busted, I wonder what Mrs. Olsen thought when she found out that Nellie was faking, and I would have loved to see the punishment she got from Mr. Olsen.

| What a happy ending this was too, I guess part of Nellie's punishment from Nel's was giving Bunny back to Laura. I really love this episode.

| Nellie faked being paralyzed was cruel and mean.She used Laura to get her do her homework for her.Nellie desrved it when Laura pushed her down the hill in the wheel chair.Mrs.Oleson fainting was funny.I don't blame Laura for being angry.

| What's interesting about Harriet's fall from the wagon is that actress Katherine MacGregor was supposed to land in a certain way that she could slide while someone caught her, but her dress didn't let her slide, so nobody was there to break her fall. Ouch. :(
I always enjoy this episode, too. I love when Laura puts her hand on Nels' arm, and he smiles and says, "You're quite a little girl." The look in his eyes when Laura hugs him gets me all the time--like he wishes his children were a little kinder and more giving, too.

| I love the Nellie going down the hill in the wheel chair scene. So classic. I laugh so hard everytime. This has always been a favorite of mine.
